Product name:
Product name is a brand's identification of a product, often a model name, but not totally unique as it can include some product variants. Product name is a key part of the Icecat product title on a product data-sheet.
Article code :
The brand's unique identifier for a product. Multiple product codes can be mapped to one mother product code if the specifications are identical. We map away wrong codes or sometimes logistic variants.

The quality of the data-sheets can be on several levels:
only logistic data imported: we have only basic data imported from a supplier, a data-sheet is not yet created by an editor.
created by Canon: a data-sheet is imported from an official source from a manufacturer. But the data-sheet is not yet standardized by an Icecat editor.

The short editorial description of Canon MV880X 1.33MP CCD

MV880X 14x digital zoom 1.33Mpixel 2.4iLCD XGA resolution PictBridge
Canon MV880X 1.33MP CCD:
The official marketing text of Canon MV880X 1.33MP CCD as supplied by the manufacturer

MV880X is a new 1.33 Megapixel digital video camera. Designed to appeal to style conscious first time buyers looking for quality, simplicity and high resolution 16:9 mode. The ‘dark-metal’ finish MV880X combines Canon’s easiest ever operation with uncompromising build quality and precision optics.

A new ‘Easy’ button that puts the camera into full auto mode has been introduced for the benefit of users looking for immediate, uncomplicated results straight out of the box. The digital video camera features a powerful 14x optical zoom and Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) for high clarity, shake-free footage and stills, high-resolution 16:9 wide screen mode with letterbox display, Super Night mode with white LED, Night Mode, a double neutral density filter for bright conditions and web cam functionality. The digital video camera’s DIGIC DV image processor provides true split path processing for video and digital stills, and is PictBridge compatible for direct printing to compatible photo printers without the computer.

With its 1.33 Megapixel sensor, the MV880X has greater resolution than the 800K models making up the rest of the MV800 series. The extra resolution delivers significantly higher quality video footage, more commonly associated with much more expensive models. It also produces higher resolution digital stills, more suitable for album prints.

Despite its tiny size (only 51mm thick and weighing just 430g), the MV880X features a large 2.4" colour LCD screen.
The digital video cameras features high-resolution 16:9 wide screen mode for ‘cinema-like’ full screen viewing on wide-screen television. ‘Letter Box’ display is used for correct ratio representation of 16:9 footage during recording and playback, avoiding an otherwise ‘squashed’ image. To give footage and stills a panoramic feel, a 0.6x wide converter lens comes standard.
Everything about the MV880X is designed to make shooting and playback super easy. As well as the ‘Easy’ button for switching between full auto and program mode, a number of other key controls sit right beneath the fingertips for intuitive, single-handed operation. The ergonomic oval design includes flush switches and recessed buttons, contributing to both ease-of-use and the streamlined feel. To make shooting easy, single purpose external buttons include a ‘Night Mode’ button, LCD Backlight button to raise LCD backlight brightness when shooting in bright conditions and a Widescreen button to switch between normal 4:3 and wide screen 16:9 modes. Menu options are designed to be intuitive and simple to navigate.

Image sensor
Total megapixels *
A megapixel (MP or Mpx) is one million pixels, and is a term used not only for the number of pixels in an image, but also to express the number of image sensor elements of digital cameras or the number of display elements of digital displays. For example, a camera that makes a 2048 × 1536 pixel image typically uses a few extra rows and columns of sensor elements and is commonly said to have "3.2 megapixels" or "3.4 megapixels", depending on whether the number reported is the "effective" or the "total" pixel count (as opposed to the 2048 × 1536 = 3,145,728 finished image pixels).
1.33 MP
Sensor type *
A sensor is a convertor than measures a physical quality (light, temperature etc.) and displays this electronically on a device.
Lens system
Optical zoom *
Indicates the optical zoom capacity, which is the number of times that the picture can be enlarged with the optics of the camera.
Digital zoom *
Indicates the digital zoom capacity, the number of times that the picture is enlarged thanks to digital technology.
Image stabilizer *
This camera function compensates for slight shaking movements caused by an unstable position and ensures smooth footage even in suboptimal conditions.
Focal length range (f-f)
Measure of how strongly the system converges or diverges light. For an optical system in air, it is the distance over which initially collimated rays are brought to a focus. A system with a shorter focal length has greater optical power than one with a long focal length; that is, it bends the rays more strongly, bringing them to a focus in a shorter distance. For an optical system in air, the effective focal length (f and f′) gives the distance from the front and rear principal planes (H and H′) to the corresponding focal points (F and F′).
2.1 - 29.4" (53.4 - 748 mm)
Filter size
A filter is a screen, plate, or layer of a substance which absorbs light or other radiation or selectively absorbs some of its components e.g. a UV filter to reduce UV light. Filters come in various sizes.
1.1" (2.8 cm)
Camera shutter speed
Determines the length of time the shutter lets light pass through the lens to the CCD. Shutter speed and aperture together determine exposure.
Display diagonal *
Size of the display for this product, measured diagonally, usually in inches.
The description of display that can includes display type, resolution, size etc.
Display resolution
The number of distinct pixels in each dimension that can be displayed. It is usually quoted as width × height, with the units in pixels: for example, "1024 × 768" means the width is 1024 pixels and the height is 768 pixels. The higher the number of pixels, the sharper the image.
Photo effects
Different effects that you can use to modify photos after they have been taken, such as colour filters.
Art, Mirror, Mosaic, Sepia
Built-in microphone
Microphone that is found inside the product.
Battery life (max) *
Maximum battery life. Mobile Mark™ (2002) is the standard often used to benchmark battery life time.
4 h
Battery type
Description of battery supplied with the product, such battery form factor (e.g. AA/AAA).
Weight & dimensions
Width *
The measurement or extent of something from side to side.
2.01" (51 mm)
Depth *
The distance from the front to the back of something.
3.66" (93 mm)
Height *
The measurement of the product from head to foot or from base to top.
5.12" (130 mm)
Weight *
Weight of the product without packaging (net weight). If possible, the net weight is given including standard accessories and supplies. Please note that sometimes the manufacturer leaves out the weight of accessories and/or supplies.

Interface ports to connect pieces of equipment. USB (Universal Serial Bus) has become the most popular wired interface to connect peripherals. USB 2.0 supports speeds up to 480 Mbit/s (USB 1: 12 Mbit/s). The interface FireWire is also known as the IEEE 1394 standard. Enhanced IDE (EIDE)is sometimes referred to as Fast ATA, Fast IDE or ATA-2.
