Connect with Wi-Fi
Effortlessly showcase your precious memories to social networking sites with Wi-Fi. Enjoy remote monitoring to see what's happening at home when you’re away using your smartphone or tablet via a Wi-Fi connection and the free 'CameraAccess Plus' app. The LEGRIA HF R56 is also compatible with the optional Camera Pan Table CT-V1, which enables horizontal panning in a range of 200° and can be controlled from your device over the internet.

Optical Intelligent IS
Intelligent IS is the perfect solution to camera shake. It automatically detects the scene and selects exactly the right optical image stabiliser settings from 4 modes to counteract movement and prevent blur. Advanced dynamic mode corrects roll and tilt movements that can occur when walking, ensuring sharp steady videos.

57x Advanced zoom; Full HD CMOS
The genuine Canon HD video lens features a versatile 57x Advanced Zoom that lets you capture all the detail in even far away subjects. The 3.28 megapixel Full HD CMOS sensor delivers superb image quality and excellent colour reproduction even in low light.

Baby Mode
Capture the first steps, first words - and a host of other memories - of up to three children with advanced Baby Mode. Register each child’s date of birth in-camera, and add colourful stamps and animations to record height and weight. All footage is automatically saved to the relevant baby album.

Simultaneous Recording
Movies can be recorded in both AVCHD and MP4 simultaneously. Simply capture once and showcase exceptional quality videos or share footage to portable devices and social networking sites. Videos are stored to the internal memory and SD card.

Advanced image processing
The powerful DIGIC DV4 imaging processor ensures higher image quality in low light and a substantial reduction in image distortion as it works together with the optical image stabiliser. The processor handles high recording rates of MP4 (35 Mbps) and AVCHD (28Mbps).
