Despite the obsession of modern society with appearance, appearance, appearance, good looks don't always mean top quality. The most attractive of supermodels occasionally, turn out not to be rocket scientists; the most fantastic looking minimalist flats c...
But, all-in-all, the E100 is not a player I'd be happy recommending. Apart from its good quality audio output, decent range of features and Flac support, there's very little about this player that makes it stand out from the competition. And it has its sh...

Just by looking at the iriver E100’s expansive feature set—built-in stereo speakers, line-in recording, microSD Card slot, FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) support—it appears to be a compelling option for music fans. A wonky control pad...

The iRiver E100 has a cheap, plastic feel, and the interface is very basic. The clickpad is not totally responsive, and some navigation is sluggish. D-Click navigation isnt optimal for the control pad setup. No integrated podcast support.
The iRiver E100 is a decent choice for people who want a ton of features in an easy-to-use package, but if youre after speedy navigation or top-notch sound quality, look elsewhere.

The fun factor isnt so important in, say, a lawnmower or a dishwasher, but a portable media player should be fun to use, and the E100 just isnt. This player looks sweet and offers robust audio file support, as well as extras like line-in recording...
Slick design. microSD slot. Strong file support. FM radio and recording. Voice recording and line-in recording.
Photos and video dont look so great on the not-so-sharp screen. Uninspired user interface. Difficult navigation. Many settings and options are difficult to find.
iriver knows how to make good portable media players, like the venerable Clix and the Clix gen 2, so the E100 is a bit of a disappointment. It works—just not gracefully or intuitively...
