The LTO-4 drives offer full backward compatibility with LTO-3 cartridges and backward read compatibilities with LTO-2 cartridges, helping to protect the investment customers have made in LTO technology.

High reliability with Adaptive Tape Threading
The Tandberg Data LTO drives features Adaptive Tape Threading which helps to protect against load failures with 8 independent sensor readings, which provide input to enhanced firmware. By verifying tape speed and tape spinning wheel, modulating the thread profile to help provide tension control, using thread algorithm to help detect damaged cartridges and including a unique design that prevents accidental pulling of the leader pin, the Tandberg Data LTO drives offer high reliability, required in medium and large enterprises.
