The DC19 has a 2.2MP CCD with an RGB Primary Colour Filter. Movies are recorded straight to DVD (-R/-RW/-R Dual Layer) with vivid true-to-life colours, just as you remember them. Simply finalise a disc in-camera and transfer it to a home DVD player for easy viewing.

Elegant and easy to handle
The compact styling of the DC19 provides easy operation using just one hand. Controls are grouped together at the back of the camcorder, allowing easy access to the majority of important functions.

DVD-R Dual Layer
Part of Canon's second generation DVD line-up, the DC19 is compatible with a wider range of formats. DVD-R Dual Layer offers greater capacity and makes longer recording times possible: 36 minutes of video at best quality, 54 minutes at standard quality and an impressive 108 minutes at the most efficient setting.

2.7" widescreen LCD
The DC19 has a 2.7" widescreen LCD, allowing you to see exactly what you record in true 16:9 format. A horizontal level marker helps you to frame the perfect shot on the LCD. Anti-glare coating means that the screen remains visible even in direct sunlight.

10x optical zoom
The DC19's precision 10x optical zoom lens delivers astonishingly crisp images, helping you to get closer to the action. The Electronic Image Stabilizer uses advanced Canon technology to stabilise the image and reduce camera shake, even at maximum zoom.

Dolby Digital
Dolby Digital offers superior quality sound recording: the DC19's audio matches the superb quality of its image capture.

DIGIC DV
With Canon's DIGIC DV image processor, the DC19 captures high resolution movies that are amazingly true to life. Split path processing for separate video and still signals allows you to record photos to miniSD card at the same time as a movie is recorded to DVD.

Digital photography
Advanced digital photography functions, with photo capture to miniSD card or DVD, make the DC19 a powerful combined camcorder and digital still camera.

Video light and flash
A white LED mini video light allows close subjects to be shot in colour even in low light conditions. A built-in flash for digital photography is also provided.
